Details
Standing right in the middle of the most beautiful avenue of the world, the Arc de Triomphe, is a stunning monument that was commissioned by Emperor Napoleon himself shortly after his victory at Austerlitz. Inspired by the magnificent great arches of ancient Rome, it was made in honors of those who fought and died for France. The names of all French victories and generals are inscribed on its inner and outer surfaces and beneath its vault lies the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier from World War I.
With an overall height of 50 metres (164 ft), the Arc de Triomphe is one of the tallest triumphal arch in the world. The view from the top is giving you a privileged position over Paris, and offers a breathtaking panorama (by day or by night) and is worth climbing the 284 stairs. In addition, there is a must-see exhibition which explains the symbolic importance of this monument.

Reviews
Good alternative to the Eiffel tower
We did the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de triumf, the views from both monuments are amazing. We were surprised by the arc, taking the stairs up was a great work out after the croissants :)
